Sustainable Development Goals, the role of Parliament and the public

On October 16, a day of the cycle “Challenges of public policies to achieve the SDGs” was held at the headquarters of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), to dialogue and debate the role of legislators to implement the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs are a program of objectives and goals to be achieved, facing the year 2030 designed to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Each objective has specific goals that Argentina will apply depending on its economic, social and environmental reality.

This meeting is part of the cycle of conferences on Challenges of public policies to achieve the SDGs and is aimed at the general public, to strengthen the commitment of all sectors of society on Sustainable Development.

Isela Mo Amavet, manager of the International Federation of Librarians and Library Associations (IFLA); Evangelina Colli, coordinator of the Technical Administrative Secretariat of the Network of Local Parliaments in ODS; Mauricio Grotz, from the technical team of the Parliamentary Observatory for the 2030 Agenda; Norma Morandini, director of the Senate Human Rights Observatory; and Alejandro Santa, general director of the National Congress Library.
