Concern for the Pereyra Iraola Park

Non-governmental organizations from La Plata met at the Ombudsman’s Office to express concern over the lack of regulation and care for the environmental heritage.

The need to generate public policies for the care of landscape and environmental resources was highlighted, due to the environmental services they provide, their importance when thinking about sustainable development plans, the mismanagement present in their administration, the lack of containment plans in case of fires, and the lack of care necessary to sustain its infrastructure.

Regarding this, the Director of the Voluntary Fire Department of La Plata, Bibiana Lucich, stated that in the event of a fire “there are four jurisdictions in charge of solving, so ultimately there is no effective treatment” and pointed to the Fire Plan of Córdoba as an example to follow.

The exhibition was held at the headquarters of the Ombudsman (Calle 50 No. 687) and the participants agreed on the urgency of generating a jurisdictional entity to give more importance to the figure of the park, and meet their primary needs.
